The New Path

The figure of a woman shimmered in on the edge of the lawn right before the treeline. Without hesitation, she gracefully walked towards the elegant ranch that would become very familiar to her in the near future.

Lamaye found herself on a new path--a path guided by an angel. It was a confusing thought to wrap her mind around. Of course, she knew one thing was for certain: she had a contract to complete. She could say whatever she wanted, and seek the aid of whomever she wanted, but a contract is a contract. Lamaye was bound to a life of demonhood. That contract took her soul and her conscience. She might be able to play good, but she was evil at the end of the day.

But...that was a concern for the future. Right now, Lamaye wanted to enjoy the new experiences. To accomplish that end, she had taken the time to "borrow" clothing appropriate for their location. She wore a typical cowgirl hat with a matching shirt, jacket, and pants. She loved it. It was practical, yet sexy.

Lamaye stood short of the porch, and announced her presence. "Sofia! I'm here!"

A black and white mare, with a golden stallion and slim rider on his back cantered towards the moca skinned woman. The mare snorted as they came to a stop, the golden stallion just stood there, still. The rider dismounted. She was dressed similarly to the woman on the ground. "Welcome to Havenbound Abigail. This mare will be your mount. You get to name her." the black and white mare snorted, as she stepped forward and touched the tip of her nose to her new rider's hair. "She's a magical horse, but she has yet to actually speak." she said simply. The golden stallion behind ehr whinnied. she laughed "And this is Golden Revenge. He's also magical, but he's younger than her."

The golden stallion snorted as he watched the demon. Don't we deal with demons enough? Why do we have a new one? the stallion snorted angrily, and stomped a white hoof. He bobbed his head, but stayed still. She shrugged, and looked at the woman. "There are six cottages, choose one. Wander around, get used to the land, you may be a demon, but any may come here, but don't hurt anyone. If it's possible."

Lamaye took a moment to examine the black and white mare. She was a fine horse. Beautiful, elegant, well-kept. Yet, there was a uniqueness about her. She seemed troubled, yet she seemed to have alot of potential. Lamaye liked her.

When she placed her hand upon the mare's nose, it flinched. "Don't worry; I will not hurt you. I like horses." She touched it again. The mare still seemed hesitant, but she allowed the touch. After a moment of contact, Lamaye looked back towards Sofia.

"I understand. I may seem to be cold-hearted, but I tend to only kill when necessary. Is there anything else?"

The angel smiled. She was always happier here at Havenbound. It was a soothing place. Calming, and altogether a comforting place for her. She reached back and touched her golden mount. "Lunch is at the bell, get used to the sounds, you'll be doing some work later today. We have some calfs to bring in, and everyone helps out." out of the corner of her eye she caught two floppy white wings, and a smiling boy coming her way. She turned. "James! Hey! Meet Abigail. yeah, she's a demon, but she's here to help. She'll be taking the same classes as you." the boy looked frightened until she spoke. he walked up.

"I am the boss in class! I'm here first!" he was about eight, and she laughed, reaching out to brush back his brown hair. They were similar but he looked enough different to not be her son. "Abigail this is James. His parents were killed when he was just a baby. He'll be helping us today. He has a tallent with animals." she looked down at him, and he grinned up at Abigail bith toothy grin on his face. "Show her around until lunch. Alright James? Show her the ropes for now." he nodded, and whistled. A cute little fluffy chestnut pony came towards them and stopped beside him.

"I like her. Even if she is dark. You said that everyone has a choice, no matter what, and she seems nice."
