Story| Kyle doesn't remember much about his past, simply because he doesn't want to. His father and mother were decent to him, but there was always something slightly "Off" about his family. As an only child, Kyle had to do a lot to help out, and so he never really had a chance to be a kid. When he was 15, his father disappeared, leaving his mother alone with Kyle. They managed to hold on though, due to some friendly neighbors, and luck.
Then one night, 2 years later, a group of four bandits attacked their house. Kyle heard them talking outside, and grabbed his rifle and pistol and sneaked out the window, taking the bandits from behind. The bandits weren't very coordinated, and one of them was down before anyone really knew what was happening, Kyle had not trouble shooting the second one, who had charged towards him, leaving it to a two on one fight. The other bandit jumped at Kyle, and they wrestled with each other in the dirt. While this was happening the leader of this little group ran into the house and grabbed Kyle's mother, dragging her out of the house and telling Kyle that if he didn't stop fighting she would die. Kyle had overcome the man he was fighting, and stood up, dusting himself off. He looked up at the man that was holding his mother, and said, "What do you want?" The man laughed and merely said, "I wanted to make sure you were watching for this." and shot Kyle's mother.
Kyle screamed and leaped at the man, throwing him to the ground, and attacking with a fury. The man picked up a knife that someone had dropped, and slashed Kyle across the chest. Kyle yelled, and fell back, and the man scrambled up and started to run. Kyle was not letting him escape, not after what had happened, and he grabbed a rifle.
His father had taught him how to shoot, and even in the dim light of the early early morning, he fired one shot, and the man fell. Kyle tore off the shirt he was wearing, and made an impromptu bandage, before stumbling across the ground to where the man lay. He ripped off the mask the man was wearing and found himself face to face, with his now dead father.
Before he could speak, he heard dogs and shouting. The neighbors had heard the shouting and gunshots and came running, with the sheriff. Kyle didn't know what was happening, all he knew was that if they took him, well he couldn't let them. The sheriff never had liked Kyle, ever since Kyle had outdone him in a shooting contest, the man had disliked him, and Kyle had recently been caught with the sheriff's daughter, leaving plenty of excuses for unfair treatment. Grabbing his father's hat, he sprinted back to his house. As he ran, his eyes filled with tears, knowing that the man he had loved and honored had betrayed him.
Arriving at the house, he paused for a moment, and apologized to his mother for not being able to save her, but the noises of people were getting louder. Running in the house, he grabbed his guns, and a handful of clothes. He stopped and scrawled out a note, "Catch me if you can Sheriff" hoping to preserve some of his father's honor. Then out again to the yard, where he grabbed one of the bandits horses, and then he was off, riding into the morning. One of the men who had come running towards the gunshots saw him, and fired a shot which hit him in the shoulder.
Kyle made it about halfway to the mountains when he passed out, due to his wounds. The horse simply followed a familiar path, and took him to an outlaw town high in the mountains. The doctor there patched him up, and he stayed for a year or so. Then he wandered off, looking for a place to start over. While he was at the town, he found a mutt pup, and took her off the street. He named her Lucy, and she became his friend and companion, as well as turning out to be a decent fighter and guardian. Now he drifts, and goes from town to town, looking for somewhere he can stay, but he knows he wont find one.

Kyle walked into the bar, his hat pulled low, and his bandana over his face, keeping unwanted eyes away from him. Lucy was lying down outside the door, and if he didn't know her better he would have thought she had already fallen asleep. But she was very much aware of what was going on, and if trouble broke out, she would be coming to help her friend and master. Walking up to the bar keep, he muttered, "Whiskey" and tossed the man a couple of coins. Then he leaned against the bar, eyes searching until he found the man he was looking for. Nodding silently to the barkeep, he took his drink and walked over to the man. "Excuse me," He said in a quiet voice, so only the man could hear "But aren't you my uncle Eddy?" The man looked up, and replied, "No, he is my brother." Satisfied with the man's answer Kyle sat down, and pulled his bandana down. "Mr. Louis," He began, "I hear you have a job for me.
